Sundance TV’s short-form British anthology dramedy, State of the Union, returns for season two on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, with Brendan Gleeson (The Tragedy of Macbeth, In Bruges, Harry Potter) and Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects) playing the lead roles. Each ten-minute (or so) episode features the long-married couple meeting for coffee before heading to therapy to deal with their troubled marriage.

State of the Union, which first aired in 2019 with Chris O’Dowd and Rosamund Pike, won three Primetime Emmys, including outstanding short-form comedy or drama series and outstanding actor and actress in a short-form series for O’Dowd and Pike.

The series is written by Nick Hornby (Brooklyn, An Education) and directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, A Very English Scandal).

Season one of State of the Union is available to watch on subscription streaming services Sundance Now and AMC Plus. The new season will premiere on Sundance TV on Feb. 14 with new ten-minute episodes dropping each night for ten evenings. The entire season will be made available on premiere night on Sundance Now and AMC Plus.
