In a preview for this weekend’s 69th Annual Primetime Emmys, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, HBO’s Westworld and Netflix’s Stranger Things each took home five Creative Arts Emmys. The Creative Arts Emmys were held over two nights on Sept. 9 and 10 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

All three shows scored many nominations leading into this year’s ceremonies, with Saturday Night Live and Westworld tying for the most nods with 22 each and Stranger Things grabbing 18.

Imaginary Forces managed to win the award for main-title design for its ‘80s inspired sequence for Stranger Things, even though powerhouse Elastic and its creative director Patrick Clair were nominated three times for Westworld, Netflix’s The Crown and Starz’ American Gods. Prologue and Ryan Murphy also were nominated for the opening sequence to Feud: Bette and Joan.

Stranger Things also won for outstanding original main title theme music, beating Feud, Nat Geo’s Genius, CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, PBS’ Victoria and Westworld.

Stranger Things won three other Creative Arts Emmys for casting, single-camera picture editing and sound editing.

Saturday Night Live took home two Emmys for guest stars in a comedy: Melissa McCarthy in her unforgettable Sean Spicer skits, beating SNL veteran Kristen Wiig; and Dave Chappelle, who hosted the show right after the presidential election and has since taken heat for saying during that monologue that we should “give President Trump a chance.” Chappelle prevailed over two other SNL guest hosts — Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Hanks — in the category.

SNL also won for makeup, technical direction and production design.

Westworld also scored wins in five categories, including for its website, which treated visitors like prospective guests to the Westworld theme park.

Creative agency Bacon and Sons won in the outstanding short form comedy or drama series category for its web series masquerading as Los Pollos Hermanos employee training videos that aired in advance of the third season of AMC’s Better Call Saul.
