Creative branding agency and production company Pilot has hired Steve Behnke as senior creative director. He will work out of the company’s Los Angeles office.
“Having worked with Pilot for years as a client, I am thrilled to be a part of this team,” said Behnke in a statement. “My passion for this industry has always been fueled by the variety it offers, and Pilot has their hands in a lot of things. I’m excited to help strengthen and expand the work we do here.”
Behnke previously worked as an executive director at The Sponsor Shop for TBS and TNT, where he led the creation of branded content and promotions for series, movie studios and major advertisers including Coca-Cola, Geico and Hyundai, and on an award-winning multiplatform campaign for Target and Cougar Town.
As part of TLC’s Branded Entertainment team, Behnke was lead creative on content and promotions for major movie studios such as Fox, Warner Brothers, and Disney.
He began his career in the TNT on-air team in Atlanta, where he launched movies and original series such as Saving Grace and created the network’s first major branded content series for MasterCard.
“We’re psyched to be working with Steve, “ Pilot founder Louis Venezia said in a statement. “He’s a big part of our long-term investment in LA. His experience on both the network side and the client side makes him the perfect person to take our strategy for branded content and straight content creation to a new level.”
