Stephanie Sassola died Thursday, February 9 at the age of 62 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Struse and her two sons Giancarlo and Nicolai, as well as her father, Marcel; brother, Marcel Sassola III, his wife, Felicia and their children and grandchildren.

Sassola was born in Long Branch and lived in Cliffside Park, N.J.; New York City and Tiburon, California. Stephanie was a graduate of Shore Regional High School and Arizona State University.

She was a longtime member and friend of Promax, having served as Showtime’s creative director from March 1994 to April 1997. Prior to joining Showtime, she was a designer at VideoWorks in New York from 1989-1994. There, she spearheaded the integration of Macintosh computers in a post-production facility. During that time, she designed on-air promotion packages for such cable channels as Nickelodeon, MTV, Lifetime, HBO, Showtime and more. From 1983 to 1986, she was a designer at MTV, working on both its music news and its New Year’s Eve Party live event.

After leaving Showtime, she started her own firm, Hey!, and served as partner and creative director there from May 1997 through March 2002. She then became a freelance creative director at Flush Left from March 2002 through January 2011.

From 2011-19, she served as administrative assistant and event coordinator for the City of Hoboken division of cultural affairs.

She also freelanced for Promax from 2016-19, assisting at the conference and other Promax events.

Her husband, Andrew Struse, also was an entertainment marketer, having worked at Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and other networks before changing careers.
