With Banijay Germany’s acquisition of Sony Pictures Television Germany complete, the former studio production division is being rebranded as Noisy Pictures GmBH. The company is behind such German TV series as Die Höhle der Löwen, ZDF crime series Heldt, and thriller Gefährliche Nähe.

“Sony Pictures in Germany is known for high-quality scripted titles, a strong catalog and successful unscripted productions like Die Höhle der Löwen,” said Banijay Germany CEO Marcus Wolter in a statement. “On this foundation, we have every faith that the Noisy Pictures team will be another hit-maker in the Banijay Germany family.”

Astrid Quentell and Mirek Nitsch both remain at the company in leadership positions.

“We are thrilled to be part of Banijay. Looking to the future, we want to maintain the strength of our independent label, with continuity in our productions on the one hand, and fresh impulses derived from creative exchanges across the new family on the other,” said Quentell, managing director of Noisy Pictures, also in a statement.

Founded in 2018 by Marcus Wolter and Banijay, Banijay Germany GmbH now comprises more than 20 independent labels, developing, creating, and producing a diverse array of formats across all genres for all clients. Titles include Tatort Dresden, Schlag den Star (Beat the Star), TV Total, Wer wird Millionär? (Who Wants to be a Millionaire?), Kitchen Impossible, The Masked Singer, Promi Big Brother (Celebrity Big Brother), Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal and Kampf der Realitystars (Battle of the Reality Stars), as well as live shows such as 1Live Köln Comedy Night XXL and Nightwash, podcasts and comedy platform MySpass.de.
