New Zealand-based pay-TV service Sky strings together all of its Christmas-themed programming (and some not-so-Christmas-themed) in the above clips-based spot and sets it all to the tune of “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” with original lyrics from Sky’s in-house team.
The spot once again takes on the question of is Die Hard a Christmas movie (apparently even Bruce Willis thinks the answer is yes). It also highlights such holiday films as A Christmas Melody, starring songstress Mariah Carey; Deck the Halls, starring Matthew Broderick as a Christmas-loving suburban dad; 8-Bit Christmas and Fatman, starring Mel Gibson; newcomer The Happiest Season, starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis and Dan Levy, and favorites such as Bridget Jones’ Diary, starring Renee Zellwegger and Colin Firth, and Bad Santa, starring Billy Bob Thornton.
It also throws in some series such as Cartoon Network’s animated Regular Show, Santa’s Baking Blizzard and MTV’s Ridiculousness for good measure.
