Showtime announced Monday that it will premiere its live “House of Lies” special online, the first time the premium cabler has ever bowed a show on the web.

Taped at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade improv theater in Los Angeles, the special will be available beginning December 30 on several showtime platforms, including the SHO.com website, the “House of Lies” Facebook page, the network’s YouTube channel, and the Showtime Preview smartphone apps. It will also be available as a free video podcast via iTunes. Notably, Showtime isn’t requiring authentication to get the special, meaning the program could hook non-subscribers into signing up.

Showtime will air the live special the following day, December 31, at 10pm ET/PT.

Season Three of “House of Lies” debuts Sunday January 12, at 10pm ET/PT.
