The nuns and midwives at Nonnatus House are coming back for a third season this year, and the BBC is already making sure everything is done by the book.

“Call the Midwife,” which began as an adaptation to the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, just aired its Christmas special on BBC and PBS, and will continue its run using hers and other stories as inspiration. Season 3 will pick up the story in 1959 as the nuns, nurses and midwives enter the new world of the ‘60s.
“Call the Midwife” debuts its third season on BBC One in 2014.
