Dory (Alia Shawkat) has mysteriously gone missing when season four of HBO Max’s Search Party premieres on January 14.
Her friends once again join together to form a search party, but turns out they are looking in all the wrong places while Dory is much easier to find than they realize. Meanwhile, Dory is being held captive by her stalker, Chip (Cole Escola), who believes imprisoning her is a good way to convince her to be his best friend.
While her friends are ostensibly searching, they’re also living their lives. Portia (Meredith Hagner) is starring in a film about the gang’s murder trial from season three; Elliott (John Early) is now a far-right conservative talk-show host; and Drew is working as a costumed performer at a theme park.
The season’s first three episodes will drop on HBO Max on January 14, with another three dropping on January 21 and the final four on January 28. The show moved to HBO Max after two seasons on TBS; all three seasons are available to watch on the streamer.
Search Party is executive produced by Sarah-Violet Bliss, Charles Rogers, Michael Showalter, and Lilly Burns along with Tony Hernandez for Jax Media.
