Samuel L. Jackson gives a straight up, blunt breakdown of all the important houses, characters, relationships and drama that’s unfolded on seasons one through six of Game of Thrones so far.

“Nice family, right?” he narrates as all the Starks stand lined up at the beginning of season one. “Don’t get attached. I’m just sayin’.”

As the series progresses, Jackson sums up the current political landscape of the show, sticking to the points that really matter.

“Some time has passed now and all hell has broken loose because of some things I don’t have time to explain,” he says. “Just know that in all seven of the kingdoms of Westeros, peacetime is done. Finito. Everybody thinks they should sit on the Iron Throne.”

His brash, entertaining take leads fans through the birth of Daenerys “three little dragon babies,” and the fact that “everybody should be worried about this long-ass winter coming, but instead are too busy fighting.”

Meanwhile, “Bran … Bran trippin,’” and “Cersei thinks she’s a good leader but she ain’t … She’s pretty much Marie Antoinette in this whole situation,” while Arya’s “working on her revenge dance.”

Jackson’s recap goes through seasons one through five, while brushing on the latest season six. His clear, concise, bad-ass narration has us longing for an actual winter in the show’s sunny filming locations so that production on season seven can start already.
