Russell Crowe transforms to play late Fox News mastermind Roger Ailes in Showtime’s seven-part limited series debuting Sunday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The series is based on Gabriel Sherman’s book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, which as based on interviews with more than 600 people. It aims to explore how Ailes not only shaped Fox News but also the modern Republican party until he was ultimately brought down by the allegations of Carlson and other women that he had sexually harassed them.

Besides Crowe, Naomi Watts stars as former Fox News anchor and whistleblower Gretchen Carlson, Sienna Miller appears as Ailes’ wife, Elizabeth, Seth MacFarlane plays former Fox News PR chief Brian Lewis and Simon McBruney plays News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch. Also starring are Annabelle Wallis, Aleksa Palladino. Guest stars include Josh Charles and Josh Stamberg.

Sherman and Spotlight writer Tom McCarthy wrote the first episode, which is a co-production between Showtime and Blumhouse Television. Crowe and McCarthy executive produce along with Alex Metclaf and Jason Blum. Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold also executive produce for Blumhouse, along with Liza Chasin of 3dot Productions and Kari Skogland. Skogland, who has directed episodes of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, directed multiple episodes.
