Canada’s Rogers Sports & Media used a wide variety of distinct animation and motion graphics styles for this set of :10 idents for cable network Sportsnet. All of the idents, which are aimed at younger viewers, illustrate the concept “United by Sport.”
To create the idents, Rogers first came up with a series of concepts and then worked with animation studio Blirp to execute them.
Over the last few years, we’ve developed fantastic relationships with the folks at Blirp and we knew they would be great collaborators on this project. The end result is a beautiful series of IDs that fuel fandom, inspiring and connecting fans by celebrating all aspects of what makes sport great,” wrote Rogers in an email.
Sportsnet launched the series during Sportsnet’s broadcast of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Next Gen hockey game, “which was the perfect environment for reaching the younger viewers we were seeking,” Rogers said.
