Can friendship transcend space and time?
That’s what YouTube Red asks in the return of Rhett & Link’s Buddy System, set in a parallel universe where the two meet for the first time as adults.
In season two, stars and co-creators Rhett McLaughlin and Charles “Link” Neal never met in first grade and became lifelong friends who host a popular Internet show. Instead, they are all grown when they meet when looking for roommates.
“Rhett is a self-absorbed hedonist while Link is alarmingly simple,” according to YouTube Red. “Will they each be able to grow enough to form the ‘buddy system’ their counterparts enjoy in this universe?
Rhett & Link’s Buddy System is directed by Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) and executive produced by McLaughlin, Neal, Stevie Wynne Levine and Kids at Play’s Jason Berger and Amy Laslett. Michael Jamin and Sivert Glarum (King Of The Hill) serve as showrunners.
Season two will feature celebrity guests Tony Hale (Veep), Mayim Bialik (Big Bang Theory), Leslie Bibb (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby), and Rob Corddry (Ballers).
Newcomers to season two also include MaryLynn Rajskub (24) Michael McDonald (The Heat), Page Kennedy (Rush Hour), David Koechner (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), Garrett Morris (Ant-Man), and Alison Rich (Angie Tribeca).
Rhett & Link’s Buddy System premiers November 29 on YouTube Red.
