Capcom has debuted a live-action trailer for it’s remake of Resident Evil 2 that pays homage to the trailer for the original, produced by George A. Romero in 1998.

Marketing for the video game, available January 25 for Xbox On, PS4 and PC, also includes a launch trailer for the zombie-filled horror story that unfolds.

Set two months after Resident Evil, the sequel focuses on rookie cop Leon Kennedy of the Racoon City Police Department, and college student biker gal Claire Redfield who is looking for her brother who was featured in the game’s predecessor.

Meanwhile, pretty much everybody has been turned into zombies by the T-virus, and a researcher at the Umbrella Corporation has made an ever more deadly G-virus.

Both the animated and live-action trailers lay on the creep factor as characters fight for survival in the apocalyptic world.

The game’s releases also comes as Netflix has revealed plans for the TV seris adaptation of the franchise, which also includes six films.
