Simon Crabtree and Victoria Stout both have been upped from design director to creative director at London-based agency Red Bee Creative, the agency said Monday.

The promotions are in “recognition of the lead role they have already played on cornerstone pieces of business for the agency in the last two years—the rebranding of multiple Hallmark channels, the moving visual identity for FC Barcelona, the ongoing development of design systems for Discovery Networks in the OTT space, and a successful pitch for CNBC,” Red Bee said.

Stout joined what was then BBC Broadcast in 2003, and spent seven years working on a wide range of projects, including being embedded in China to design broadcast graphics for host broadcast network CCTV’s Olympics package. She’s also worked on projects for such brands as ITV, Orange, Discovery and the BBC. She then departed the company for eight years, and returned to Red Bee after working for such firms as Lambie-Nairn, BDA and Moving Brands.

Crabtree joined the design team at the BBC in 2000 and was part of the firm’s evolution to Red Bee. He’s worked on UKTV’s rebranding of its ten channels, including the creative of the Dave network and the subsequent Made by Dave brand. He also worked on designing the logo for the BBC’s update of Doctor Who and helped launch BT Sport. More recently, he’s led projects for TV Norge, Abu Dhabi Television and Dplay Sport.

“At a time of such reinvention within the media sector in particular, we are lucky to have two talents to lead our projects with a great blend of both deep experience and the ability to challenge orthodox approaches,” said Red Bee Creative Executive Creative Director Charlie Mawer in a statement. “These deserved promotions are an acknowledgement of the vital role they will both play in the creative leadership of the agency going forward.”

“Victoria and Simon have both demonstrated creative leadership, the ability to handle large and complex projects and to do all of the above with the intelligence and craft that are hallmarks of Red Bee at its best,” added Red Bee Head of Design Jane Fielder also in a statement.
