“I know there must be many thoughts going through your mind right now. Is this the right place for me? Do I belong here?” asks Professor Richard “Brink” Brinkerhoff (Clancy Brown), crimefighting department chair at Goldolkin University – also known as God U – where Vought University trains up young supes.

Brink stars in a recruitment video for the school, which also serves as a promo for Gen V, a spinoff of Prime Video’s The Boys about the generation that’s up-and-coming. Brink is encouraging his young charges before they enter the race to become superheroes and work for Vought Corporation, the inanimate antagonist at the center of Prime Video’s The Boys.

Fun fact: Goldolkin is one of the worst villains in The Boys graphic novels, although it’s unknown whether the character will pop up in this series. Apparently there are only two available majors at God U: performing arts or crimefighting, as explained by Dean Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn), also known as VNN’s Most Trusted Education Professional of 2023. More information about Gen V, Godolkin University and its two available majors can be found on the school’s website.

Besides Brown and Conn, Gen V’s cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi. Brown and Jason Ritter guest star, with appearances from The Boys’ stars Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Nelson Cragg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on the spinoff series. Serving as co-executive producers are Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Loreli Alanís. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.

Gen V premieres on Prime Video on September 29.
