Despite the recent entry of buzzy shows like “Under the Dome” and “Girl Meets World,” reality and unscripted are still the undisputed kings of summer television.
Nine of the 10 top original shows in the coveted Adults 18-49 demographic last week were unscripted, according to Variety, with only “True Blood” breaking the trend.
NBC’s “Night Shift” is the highest-rated freshman original series, with TNT’s “The Last Ship” winning the cable field.
So what are people watching this summer?
“Big Brother,” in all of its iterations, makes the top 10 in three different spots. “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta,” “America’s Got Talent,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “MasterChef,” and “American Ninja Warrior” rounded out the chart last week.
