Queen Latifah’s daily syndicated talk-variety series debuts September 16 across CBS’ owned and operated stations, and the promo train has left the station. Promos were released Tuesday offering a first glimpse at what The Queen Latifah Show will look like.

With a high-octane production team that includes Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, “The Queen Latifah Show” promises a blend of celebrity interviews, human-interest stories, musical performances and Latifah’s comedic take on pop culture. The star and CBS are aiming for a slice of the pie currently enjoyed by Ellen DeGeneres and Wendy Williams. Latifah will aim to distance herself from the pack by focusing on her ability to connect with people, journeying, as these promos suggest, outside the studio regularly and heading into communities across the country to seek out compelling stories, celebrate exceptional individuals and have adventures.
