Sometimes, the right song is all you need to add the perfect emotional note to a promo.
The songs cropping up in this year’s fall promos run the gamut from familiar classical melodies, to the latest pop song, to obscure dance tracks.
And for anyone just dying to figure out what great song they’re hearing, it’s now easier than ever thanks to music identification apps such as Shazam and SoundHound.
In fact, thanks to the growing popularity of creating Shazam-able spots, using the app to find a particular song might actually lead you to another piece of marketing. Several networks, notably Fox and NBC, are using Shazam to direct viewers to additional content on their smartphones.
So which songs will you hear in promos this fall? Hint: a lot of One Republic.
