Local stations have spoken and PromaxBDA has listened!
The annual PromaxBDALocal Awards celebrates and honors the best in local media, marketing and design, driving creativity and innovation from the local market. And this year, in response to feedback from participating local stations, syndicators and station groups, the Local Awards competition has expanded two of its most popular categories.
Two branding categories in the 2015 competition will now differentiate submissions from small, medium and large markets in order to encourage same-sized markets to compete against one another:
-Promotion/Marketing: General Branding/Image: News Station Image
-Promotion/Marketing: General Branding/Image Campaign
These are the most popular categories of the PromaxBDALocal Awards and have been historically the most-entered as well. PromaxBDA hopes that the change will provide an opportunity for stations with similar sizes and budgets to compete in the same group.
Small, medium and large markets will be determined by DMA, which will be entered with each award submission. DMAs 1-25 will be considered large, 26-50 are medium and 51-210 are designated small markets.
Since its inception in 2011, the PromaxBDALocal Awards competition has made several similar efforts to update and adapt to the ever-changing local television markets. Awards categories have been added or removed and the definition of entries have changed as the technology and creative of local stations continue to evolve.
The final deadline for awards submissions is Thursday, April 9. All work published or broadcast from Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2014 is eligible.
Winners of the PromaxBDALocal Awards will be awarded at PromaxBDA’s Station Summit on Thursday, June 25 in Las Vegas.
