The cast of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty was just sitting around, chatting, talking about their lack of summer plans when they received an exciting text message from executive producer Jenny Han, letting them know their show would be back July14. The excited cast immediately starts posting on social media until they get a follow up group text from Han: “oops, wrong chat.”

Too late, the news is out: the first three episodes of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty will drop on Friday, July 14, with a new episode coming out each Friday until the season finale on Friday, August 18.

The series, which became a summer hit for Prime Video last year, stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer, as well as recurring guests David Iacono and Elsie Fisher. Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard also star, with Kyra Sedgwick joining this season in a recurring role.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the best-selling book trilogy by Han. Han also penned the book To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, which was adapted into a trio of original movies for Netflix that Han executive produced. Season two, specifically, is based on the second book in The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy: It’s Not Summer Without You.

The video also announces season two’s episode titles, inviting fans to speculate which of their favorite scenes from the book will be included in the series:

Episode 201 – “Love Lost” (Premiering July 14, 2023)

Episode 202 – “Love Scene” (Premiering July 14, 2023)
