ViacomCBS announced on Tuesday that Pluto TV, its ad-supported free streaming service, is now available across 17 countries in Latin America, including Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
“We launched Pluto TV six years ago with a mission to entertain the planet and a vision to become the global leader in free streaming television. Now, we are the leading free streaming TV platform in America and growing rapidly in Europe,” Tom Ryan, CEO, and co-founder of Pluto TV, said in a statement. “Today marks a major step forward in our mission, and we are thrilled to offer people across Latin America, one of the world’s largest markets, access to our popular streaming TV service.”
Pluto TV Latin America has partnered with over 60 media and content providers like BBC Studios, MTV and Hearst to offer 12,000 hours of free content for Spanish-language viewers. It’s currently home to 24 curated channels and plans to reach more than 70 channels in a year by launching new channels monthly.
The streaming service, which Viacom acquired in January of last year, offers ad-supported channels and a library of on-demand content, both of which can be viewed for free without a subscription.

The streaming service also added a special section, “Quedate en casa #JuntosADistancia,” in its on-demand section to promote the practice of social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Pluto TV is available via pay-TV platforms, its own website and through iOS and Android apps.
