The internet celebrated Captain Picard Day on Wednesday, so ViacomCBS-owned streamer Paramount+ obliged fans by dropping the first teaser for season two of Star Trek: Picard featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising the iconic character.

In the teaser, Picard is immediately confronted with his longtime nemesis, Q (John de Lancie), before he races off to try to heal time itself.

Q’s arrival in season two was first announced in April. The classic villain first appeared all the way back in 1987 in the pilot of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and he reoccurred frequently throughout the series as a foil to TNG’s Picard.

Besides Stewart and de Lancie, Santiago Cabrera, Jeri Ryan, Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Orla Brady and Brent Spiner all also star.

Executive producers are Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Terry Matalas, Michael Chabon, Doug Aarniokoski, Dylan Massin, Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth with. Aaron Baiers and Kirsten Beyer serving as co-executive producers. Goldsman and Matalas are also co-showrunners.

Star Trek: Picard returns to Paramount+ in 2022.
