Fox Television Stations agreed to acquire WJZY and WMYT Charlotte from Capitol Broadcasting for $18 million earlier this year, and closed on the deal in April. With the transition to Fox becoming official July 1, the stations have named Geoff Roth their new VP of local content.
In his new role, Roth will be responsible for formulating and leading the creative execution of all news programming. Formerly, he was executive producer at the Fox-owned station KRIV Houston. In Charlotte, he will have the opportunity to build the stations’ digital news presence from the ground up, in a growing market.
