Kate McKinnon’s Carole Baskin takes on John Cameron Mitchell’s Joe Exotic in Peacock’s limited scripted series, Joe vs. Carole, debuting March 3.

The series is based on Wondery’s 2020 podcast, Joe Exotic: Tiger King, hosted and reported by Robert Moor. It also covers some of the same territory explored in Netflix’s wildly popular, Tiger King, which debuted during the early days of the pandemic in March 2020.

In the series, Baskin is determined to expose Exotic’s wanton ways, based around Exotic’s treatment of his big cats on his for-profit preserve. But Exotic feels Baskin has some secrets of her own to be exposed.

Besides McKinnon, who also executive produces, and Mitchell, the series stars Kyle MacLachlan as Baskin’s husband, Howard. The eight-episode limited series also stars Brian Van Holt, Sam Keeley, Nat Wolff, Marlo Kelly, William Fichtner, Dean Winters, and David Wenham.

Etan Frankel serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner under his overall deal with Universal Cable Productions. Alex Katsnelson executive produces along with Wondery’s Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy, and Aaron Hart. Justin Tipping executive produces and directed episodes 1-4 and 8. Natalie Bailey directed episodes 5-7.
