PBS’ upcoming documentary Pearl Harbor, USS Oklahoma: The Final Story, explores the outcome of the only battleship to capsize during the Pearl Harbor attack. The special premieres November 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

The documentary looks into what may have caused the U.S.S. Oklahoma to overturn and offers insight from survivors as well as interviews with families of those who died.

“I know my family never had closure for generations,” says one woman’s family member in the trailer.

December 7, 1941—known as D-Day—is the date when Japanese planes bombed the United States Naval Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, during a surprise attack. The following day, Congress declared War on Japan, abandoning the nation’s policy of isolationism and ushering the United States into World War II.

The U.S.S. Oklahoma, on which the documentary focuses intimately, capsized and the U.S.S. Arizona was completely destroyed. According to the Library of Congress, a total of twelve ships sank or were beached in the attack and nine additional vessels were damaged. More than 160 aircraft were destroyed and more than 150 others damaged.
