Dr. Orna Guralnik is back and working with three new couples in Showtime’s docuseries Couples Therapy, which accompanies real-life partners as they work through their challenges together.

In season two, a single mother’s unplanned pregnancy forces her to examine if she actually wants to be in relationship with the father; a woman confronts her husband about her disappointment that he hasn’t delivered the life she craves; and a young gay couple deal with the ramifications of near-fatal alcoholism.

The season, which was shot during the pandemic, also examines what the past year of lockdown and isolation has meant for the couples and for Dr. Guralnik herself emotionally.

Couples Therapy is produced by Edgeline Films for Showtime and directed by Kim Roberts and Josh Kriegman. Kriegman, Elyse Steinberg and Eli Despres executive produce.

The nine-episode second season premieres Sunday, April 18, with the first two episodes airing back to back at 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Two episodes will air each Sunday night for the following three weeks with the finale airing May 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series also will be available on demand and across all Showtime streaming partner platforms.
