Microsoft Xbox’s best-selling video game Halo is finally coming to life on TV when the long-awaited series premieres March 24 on Paramount Plus. The announcement comes via a trailer that aired during the NFL’s AFC Championship game on CBS.
The two-minute trailer features the show’s mysterious main character, Master Chief, played by Pablo Schreiber, as well as several other characters. It also teases the alien antagonists known as the Covenant.
The show had originally been in the works at Showtime but was moved to Paramount Plus last February.
Besides Schreiber, the series also stars Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey and Jen Taylor as Cortana. Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, Ryan McParland, Burn Gorman and Fiona O’Shaughnessy also star.
Halo is produced by Showtime, 343 Industries and Amblin Entertainment. Steven Kane executive produces with Amblin’s Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey; Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture; Kyle Killen and Scott Pennington for Chapter Eleven; and Kiki Wolfkill, Frank O’Connor and Bonnie Ross for 343 Industries.
