Everyone of a certain age remembers the 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close as two people who have a brief affair that turns into something so much darker.

Now Paramount Plus is reviving that story with Joshua Jackson and Lizzie Caplan in the title roles. Caplan perfectly captures Alex’s chilling energy when she tells him, “I am not going to be ignored, Dan.”

The reboot takes the story further, exploring what happened after Alex turns stalker and ultimately is murdered. It picks up in the present day, when Dan Gallagher (Jackson) is paroled after serving 15 years in prison for her murder. The series then flashes back to 2008 when Dan first meets Alex and what starts as a forbidden, if temporary, fling becomes life threatening to Dan and his family.

Fatal Attraction also stars Amanda Peet as Dan’s wife, Beth, as well as Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson, Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher and Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Brooker.

Alexandra Cunningham serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series alongside executive producer Kevin J. Hynes, with whom Cunningham developed the series. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey executive produce for Amblin Television. Silver Tree also serves as executive producer and directed five episodes. Fatal Attraction is produced by Paramount Television Studios.
