Paramount Plus and Twitter are hosting their first joint watch party for new series Halo after signing a global partnership agreement in November.

“Twitter is the digital water cooler for trending topics and fandom worldwide, and we’re excited to provide front-row access to innovative digital content experiences and culture-defining moments across the best of entertainment, news and sports for Twitter users everywhere,” said Andrea Wolinetz, senior vice president, distribution and business development – streaming, ViacomCBS, in a statement at the time.

On Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. PT, cast members Olive Gray and Kate Kennedy will be joined by executive producer Kiki Wolfkill to discuss the long-awaited adaptation of the popular video game as it finally makes its way to television.

The live-streamed roundtable will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show with a focus on the first episode.

After that, each week will feature a new after-show watch party including more behind-the-scenes highlights, fan segments, celebrity guests and more. These watch parties will mostly happen on Fridays at 1 p.m. PT with the exception of the first one, as described above, and the second, which will take place on Monday, March 28 at 1 p.m. PT. The event culminates with the final watch party on Friday, May 20 at 1 p.m. P.T.

The live watch parties are intended to allow Paramount Plus to create some social-media buzz and chatter about Halo, even though fans can watch episodes on their own schedules.

“We know that fans come to Twitter to discuss all of their favorite shows but with streaming, live-Tweeting is tricky, as fans watch these shows at their own pace,” said Paramount Plus in a press release. “This partnership is allowing us to create a new type of water-cooler effect – giving fans a reason to watch each episode within a certain timeframe and come to the platform at a specific time to react and discuss with fellow fans.”

Halo starts streaming Thursday, March 24 on Paramount Plus.
