New York-based entertainment agency Northern Lights promoted Tim Avery from assistant editor to editor, the agency said Tuesday.

Avery will continue to employ a collaborative approach to each of his projects, while elevating the storytelling arc and visuals of his clients’ brands. His storytelling expertise can be seen in spots and promos for such clients as Walmart, E!, Oxiclean, AMC, Mercedes and Animal Planet.

“We are tremendously excited to have Tim on board as an editor,” notes executive producer Robin Hall in a statement. “Along with a naturally gifted talent as a storyteller and a gentle demeanor, Tim, a former college football lineman, brings a determined work ethic with him into the edit suite.”

Avery has embraced Northern Lights’ agency offerings, working closely with senior creative director Keith Kopnicki on network promo and co-branded projects conceptualized and executed in-house. The two recently collaborated on spots for E! and The Voice in conjunction with Fashion Week as well as a series of one minute content pieces for Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl.

“Northern Lights is an industry leader, we are always working to elevate creative and produce the best work possible,” adds Avery. “The editors here are incredibly talented and in tune with our clients and the needs of our rapidly changing industry. They have been very supportive of helping me grow and I’m excited to embrace my new role.”

Avery joined multiple PromaxBDA award winner Northern Lights in 2013, working under the mentorship of in-house talent on a variety of promos, commercials and co-branded content; and continues to work across the company’s slate of projects.
