Kids watching Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger Halloween special can play along in augmented reality through polls, trivia, GIFS, games and more that are synced up to the episode through the network’s Screens Up app.

The episode, “Danger Things” pays homage to Netflix’s Stranger Things, with parodies on everything from wardrobe choices to plot devices.

The series stars Jace Norman as Henry Danger, a 13-year-old boy who discovers the secret hideout of superhero Captain Man (Cooper Barnes), and becomes his sidekick, Kid Danger.

The “Danger Things” episode takes a familiar turn when Piper, Henry’s annoying little sister, is taken by a creature from another dimension. Captain Man and Kid Danger must rescue her from the evil science corporation that opened the portal.

The app, launched in July, will feature—as Barnes puts it in a trailer—“exclusive play-along content” as stranger things such as jelly donuts “literally pop out of your TV” thanks to the special effects. Kids will be able to interact with three specific AR moments that will take effect when the episode, which originally aired October 8, is rebroadcast on October 13 at 8:30 p.m.

The Screens Up app is available from the App Store and Google Play, with content also available at henrydangerplay.com. Screens Up is a collaboration between Nickelodeon and tech partners Monterosa, The Mill, eyecandylab and We Are Royale.
