Set in “the fast-paced and challenging environment of the British newspaper industry,” newspaper drama, Press, explores the lives of journalists and editors behind the daily news at two fictional newspapers.

From BBC One and Masterpiece, it stars rival editors Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders) as deputy news editor of The Herald, and Ben Chaplin as editor of the tabloid The Post.

“Our job is the truth,” says Riley in the trailer, while Chaplin asserts the paper’s mission focuses on “the most outrageous storytelling in the world.”

David Suchet plays chairman and CEO of Worldwide News, owner of The Post, along with cast members Priyanga Burford (London Spy), Paapa Essiedu (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Shane Zaza (Happy Valley), Ellie Kendrick (Game of Thrones), Al Weaver (Grantchester) and Brendan Cowell (Game of Thrones).

Press follows their lives as they attempt to balance work and play, ambition and integrity, amid the never-ending pressure of the 24-hour global news cycle and an industry in turmoil, according to BBC.

Created by Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster’s), the six-part mini-series will debut on BBC One in September, then air on Masterpiece next year.
