“When the news goes from bad to worse, when anger and hatred on the rise, the world needs a hero … someone brave enough to point and laugh.”

And Joel McHale plans to work on being to do them both at the same time, in Netflix’s trailer for the weekly topical series featuring celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and video clips from around the globe.

It’s also “destination viewing for comedy lovers, or people who just really, really like green screens,” as the trailer makes clear.

From TV, sports, politics, celebrity culture and more, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale takes a sharp, absurdist look at pop culture and news from around the world for a fast and funny distillation of everything people are talking about that week, according to the Netflix.

The half-hour show premieres Sunday, February 18, and will launch with guest Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle). Other celebrities will include McHale’s Community co-stars Alison Brie and Jim Rash, as well as Mike Colter (Marvel’s Luke Cage), Paul Reiser (Stranger Things) and Jodie Sweetin (Fuller House).
