Netflix revealed a sneak peek of its original documentary series Chasing Cameron, chronicling the life of social-media personality turned Gen-Y icon Cameron Dallas.
The 22-year-old Chino Hills, Calif., native is not just another teen sensation who made the jump from social media to TV—Dallas is a budding entrepreneur who first amassed his large following through the now-defunct Vine app, posting vines that quickly went viral, and managed to turn the support into a social- media empire, even scoring gigs on network TV and a brief music career.
The trailer offers a behind-the-scenes look at Cameron and the MAGCON Boys as they trek across Europe on tour.
MAGCON “stands for meet-and-greet convention,” as Dallas explains, and serves as a way for fans to connect with their favorite social-media stars in the flesh.
That connection doesn’t come without pitfalls. In one eye-catching scene from the trailer, Cameron’s face appears to be bruised with painful-looking scars and blood in his blonde-tinged hair, all while gleefully holding a smartphone.
“There’s definitely pressure for me to keep everyone happy,” Dallas says as the drama builds and the tears flow from his fellow MAGCON buddies Aaron Carpenter, Taylor Caniff, Willie Jones, Trey Schafer, and Blake Gray.
Cameras will chronicle every tear-jerking, police-barricading, selfie-inducing moment.
Chasing Cameron premieres on Netflix Tuesday, Dec. 27.
