The cast of Netflix’s TheUmbrella Academy recreates a famous season from season one as they dance at their various homes to “I Think We’re Alone Now,” while revealing that season two of the unconventional superhero series is returning July 31, 2020.
Based on the Dark Horse Comic created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the show features six people who were born on the same day in 1989, all to women who were not pregnant, as far as they knew, the day before. These kids are adopted by a billionaire, who trains them to save the world.
The core six are known as The White Violin, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Seance and The Boy.
The show, which was one of Netflix’s three most popular original series in 2019, stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min. Ritu Arya, Marin Ireland, and Yusuf Gatewood have joined the series in season two.
Steve Blackman, who signed an overall multiyear deal with Netflix in February, returns as executive producer and showrunner. Also executive producing are Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Way and Bá are co-executive producers. The show is produced by Universal Content Productions for Netflix.
