Comedian Tig Notaro’s set at the Largo at the Coronet in 2012 made headlines because of its starkly funny and heart-wrenching introduction:
“Hello, good evening, hello. I have cancer. How are you? Hi, how are you? Is everybody having a good time? I have cancer, how are you?”
Notaro went on to film a documentary about her experience after that - a four-month period that included her mother’s death and her own breast cancer diagnosis - called Tig. The documentary will be the opening night film for OUTFEST in July, and will also now appear in all Netflix territories as well.
The film follows Notaro as she subsequently puts “her life together just at the moment it all seemed to fall apart.”
Netflix will premiere the documentary Tig on July 17.
