​Netflix gave virtual attendees of the first-ever WitcherCon some thrills as the streamer offered keynote conversations with Witcher star Henry Cavill as well as cast members Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Mimî M. Khayisa, Paul Bullion and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich; released the first season-two teaser; and announced that the epic fantasy series would return on Dec. 17.

In addition, the streamer announced that anime movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which is set in The Witcher universe, will debut Aug. 23.

The Witcher is based on the series of best-selling novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Season two will find monster hunter Geralt of Rivera (Cavill) bringing Princess Ciri (Allan) to his childhood home in an attempt to protect her from her own growing powers.

New cast members for season two include Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton), Cassie Clare (Brave New World), Liz Carr (Silent Witness), Graham McTavish (Outlander), Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey), Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Chris Fulton (Bridgerton).
