Netflix released a new trailer for Special Correspondents, a feature film that was poached from Hollywood and will air directly on the streaming service when it premieres on April 29.

Special Correspondents is written, directed by and starring British comic Ricky Gervais (The Office), who told CNET Netflix made “an offer I couldn’t refuse,” and the creative freedom available through the streaming service means “the return of the auteur.”

The movie stars Gervais as journalist Frank and Australian actor Eric Bana as sound engineer Finch, as the two pretend to be reporting from a war zone in Ecuador while never actually leaving New York. When the U.S. government suspects they’ve gone missing, they pretend to be taken hostage and head to the country for real.

Meanwhile, Gervais’ wife (Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga), takes advantage of the publicity to advance her music career.

The cast also includes America Ferrera, Kelly Macdonald and Benjamin Bratt.

Special Correspondents is a remake of a 2009 French comedy of the same name, and expands Netflix’s original content made outside the U.S.
