Netflix’s controversial drama 13 Reasons Why, which delves into teen suicide, returns for season three on Aug. 23. Even before the season dropped, Netflix announced the show was renewed for a fourth and final season that’s already in production.

The new season will unspool as sort of a murder mystery, as Netflix reveals in the logline: “Eight months after preventing Tyler from committing an unthinkable act at Spring Fling, Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin, and Zach find ways to shoulder the burden of the cover-up together while helping Tyler move toward recovery. But when the aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game culminates in the disappearance of a football player, and Clay finds himself under police scrutiny, it’s up to a shrewd outsider to steer the group through an investigation that threatens to lay bare everyone’s deepest secrets.”

13 Reasons Why stars Dylan Minnette, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice, Alisha Boe, Christian Navarro, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid, Ross Butler, Timothy Granaderos, Anne Winters, Steven Weber, Brenda Strong, Amy Hargreave and Grace Saif. It’s created by Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey who also executive produces along with Joy Gorman, Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin and Selena Gomez
