AMC dropped key art for season seven of The Walking Dead featuring newly introduced character
Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), holding his barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille.
The new tagline, “We’re just getting started,” appears in red next to his scary smile.

The official season seven trailer also shows more of King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), and his tiger, Shiva. Ezekiel rules over The Kingdom, whose soldiers captured Morgan and Carol in the season six finale. Meanwhile, the rest of the group is on their knees as Negan plays ‘eenie-meenie-miney-mo to decide who to kill. What none of the creative even attempts to reveal is who gets bludgeoned to death by Negan’s bat.
In season seven, the group is fractured and broken and oppressed, brutally convinced to live under his rule.
Part one of the 16-episode seventh season premieres Sunday, October 23 at 9 p.m., followed by part two in February, 2017.
