NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment has rebranded its video learning network Craftsy into subscription VOD service Bluprint, which expands beyond crafting.

Through family-focused content, targeting those as young as six, Bluprint will offer more than 3,000 hours of original online classes in lifestyle topics such as health, home décor, music, writing, dance, yoga and fitness.

The digital platform will also provide original entertainment series with creative experts. Featured talent so far includes Al Roker (The Today Show), Barney’s NY Creative Ambassador Simon Doonan, dancer and choreographer Stephen “tWitch” Boss (The Ellen DeGeneres Show), yogi Jessamyn Stanley and Broadway actress and sewist Marcy Harriell.

“The new Bluprint brand lays the foundation for us to dramatically expand and enhance its unique content and commerce capabilities and fully exploit the power of NBCUniversal to help accelerate its growth,” Dave Howe, president, strategy and commercial growth, NBCU, said in a statement. “We see tremendous potential to build Bluprint into a must-have streaming service that offers something for everyone.”

The service is available on desktop, mobile and through the Roku app. It will cost $14.99 per month or $120 per year. A seven-day free trial is currently available, along with limited time discounted plans of $9.99 for the first three months, or $100 for the year.

“Bluprint is a natural evolution of our subscription model, with our mission to revolutionize the way people engage with lifestyle passions and pursuits,” Blueprint CEO John Levisay said in a statement.

NBCU acquired Craftsy in May 2017, and over the past year has leveraged cross promotions across USA, Syfy, Bravo, E!, Oxygen and Universal Kids. That’s set to continue through an ongoing partnership with The Today Show and branded integrations with upcoming competition series Making It hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman.

Blueprint also plans to launch an ecommerce offering in the fall with curated products designed to tap into the nearly $40 billion crafts retail market.

“Bluprint is uniquely positioned as the only destination combining premium content, world class talent, a robust community and access to all the tools you need to help you achieve your personal goals,” Levisay said.
