You’re never too young to become informed.

NBC News and Universal Kids have teamed up to launch NBC News for Universal Kids, a daily newscast designed to engage 6-12-year-olds in current events.

With the intention of helping to build media literate, informed viewers of the future, the stories will provide context and information about government, society, and culture—giving young viewers an opportunity to start their own conversations about what’s happening in their world, says NBC.

Upcoming episodes include “What is Citizenship?” on November 1, followed by “What are Political Parties?” on November 2, “What are the Midterms?” on November 5, “Diversity in the Midterms,” on November 6, and “SCOTUS” on November 7.

The newscast will be hosted by Savannah Sellers, NBC News and MSNBC correspondent and co-host of Stay Tuned.

NBC News for Universal Kids is produced by NBC Learn, the educational arm of the NBCUniversal News Group.

It airs weekdays at 6 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. Central, on Universal Kids and is also available on VOD, TVE, the Universal Kids YouTube page, and UniversalKids.com.
