Vivian Schiller, NBC News’ chief digital officer, will join Twitter as head of news and journalism partnerships.

There, she will oversee the social-media platform’s growing partnerships with news organizations. Schiller is a veteran news executive, having worked at NPR and The New York Times as well as NBC.

AllThingsD first reported the story on Oct. 4, and further confirmed it on Oct. 10.

Schiller is the latest high-profile hire at the company. Bob Moczydlowsky, TopSpin Media’s former SVP of product and marketing, is Twitter’s new head of music while Geoff Reiss, former CEO of the Professional Bowlers Association, will head sports partnerships.

Brief Take: Twitter’s recent spate of hires shows how serious the service is about creating authentic and deep partnerships with media partners as it prepares to go public.
