To promote its new series reboot, Quantum Leap, NBC will take fans back in time on Thursday, September 15, to visit 1985, when gas cost 91 cents a gallon and movies were only $3.55 a ticket.
In Los Angeles, fans can visit the Avalon Parking Lot at 1749 N. Vine Street starting at 9 a.m. PT to drive through the “Quantum Accelerator,” and be immersed in everything ‘80s, from music to trivia, break-dancing, snacks and of course, swag.
After going through the experience, attendees will receive a pass to a nearby gas station where they can grab up to 10 gallons of gas – including all three grades and diesel – for just 91 cents a gallon, which should be a welcome reprieve from LA’s average gas price of $5.27 per gallon. They will also receive a coupon to buy movie tickets on online movie site Fandango for just $3.55 each while supplies last. The movie promo will also be made available to the public starting at 9 a.m. PT on Thursday, Sept. 15

In the new version of the show, it’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee) has been brought together to restart the project.
It’s not long before Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to figure out why he did it. Ben is accompanied in his leaps by Addison (Caitlin Bassett), who appears to him as a hologram that only he can see and hear.
Back in the lab, Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson) is trying to keep a lid on things with help from the rest of his team Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee).
Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt write and executive produce along with original creator Don Bellisario and Deborah Pratt, Ryan Lindenberg, Robert Hull and Martin Gero.
The show is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with I Have an Idea! Entertainment, Belisarius Productions and Quinn’s House Productions.
Quantum Leap premieres Monday, September 19 at 10/9 c on NBC and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
