Much like handmaids dressed all in red took over various locations ahead of the premiere of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, nuns in blue stormed the streets of Austin. On Tuesday evening, SXSW hosted a global premiere of the series’ first two episodes, following a panel that featured show creators Damon Lindelof (Lost, Watchmen, The Leftovers) and Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory) and was moderated by The Ringer’s Joanna Robinson.

Besides Gilpin, the series also stars Jake McDorman, Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha and Mathilde Ollivier.

Owen Harris and Alethea Jones direct and also executive produce along with Lindelof and Hernandez. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
