Filmmaker Morgan Neville goes beyond the zip-up cardigans and land of make believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations in HBO documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor about Fred Rogers, and his TV program Mister Rogers.’ Neighborhood.

“One man reminds us that a little kindness can change the world,” according to HBO’s trailer.

The documentary digs into Rogers and his cast of puppets directly approached difficult issues such as death, divorce and differences in a kid-friendly way that revolutionized children’s programming.

The award-winning film deputed at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2018, hit theaters over the summer, and will premiere February 9 on HBO.
