In conjunction with Asian-American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, Los Angeles-based music production company Megatrax has compiled a playlist of tracks gathered from its Asian-American and Pacific Islander composers, such as Baldwin Chiu, Kavin Hoo and Lani Misalucha. The playlist also includes tracks inspired by music from Asian regions and the Pacific islands.
“We hope our existing and potential new clients will take a minute to explore some of the excellent tracks we’ve culled from a selection of our fantastically talented Asian-American and Pacific Islander composers,” said James Clarke, Megatrax’s director of marketing, in a statement.

Megatrax also just had two tracks placed within The CW’s new series, Kung Fu: “Sweet Like Poison” and “Roll With It.”
May has been designated AAPI Heritage Month because it includes two important dates in Asian-American history: May 7, 1843 is the date the first known Japanese immigrant arrived in the U.S., and May 10, 1869 is when the transcontinental railroad was completed and up to 20,000 Chinese workers participated in that project.
