Max is driving its drag truck to Miami’s Art Basel festival Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9. While there, the pop-up drag experience will offer makeovers and performances inspired by such Max programs as HBO’s We’re Here and Discovery Plus’ Trixie Motel. The pop-up truck tour is powered by Max’s LGBTQIA+ initiative, @HumanbyOrientation.

“Max consistently honors and highlights queer artists throughout the year, showcasing a diverse array of LGBTQ+ content,” said Jackie Gagne, senior vice president, multicultural marketing at Max and HBO, in a statement. “We are thrilled to celebrate Miami’s vibrant queer community, expanding the impact of drag and queer art as a powerful means of expression to connect and resonate with all members of the Miami community.”

The Art of Drag pop-up truck tour will stop first at South Beach’s Palace Bar on Friday, December 8. The stop will be hosted by Miami-based drag queen London Adour and feature makeovers by Jahsyra, Kahtya Tehnsion and Kat Wilderness.

On Saturday, December 9, the truck will move to the Arts District’s R House Wynwood and be hosted by Athena Dion, featuring makeovers by Morphine Love Dion, FKA Twink and Jasmine Lords. Saturday’s stop also will feature a performance and an appearance by RuPaul’s Drag Race fan-favorite Latrice Royale, who is starring in season four of HBO’s We’re Here along with fellow Drag Race alums Jaida Essence Hall, Sasha Velour and Priyanka.

Both venues will host two drag-brunch sittings each day, while the truck offers free drag makeovers, performances and giveaways from Trixie Cosmetics and other vendors. The truck also will serve as a traveling art installation featuring original artwork by Mithsuca Berry.

The Art of Drag Pop-Up Truck Tour was created in partnership with Equality Florida, the state’s largest non-profit LGBTQ advocacy organization.
