Entertainment marketing company Mob Scene has acquired social media branding firm Gin + Tonic Labs for an undisclosed amount as part of a strategy to tailor television and film content for a variety of social media platforms while helping the social company grow.

Gin + Tonic specializes in helping clients such as performing artists and emerging brands build and grow social influence and followings in order to standout in today’s global online marketplace. Through branding, design, production, photography and more, the agency strives to be at the forefront of creative online content and strategy.

At the same time, Gin + Tonic Labs President and Founder Mike Spitz was aware of the need for a management company that understood the dynamic talent in entertainment, and how to best develop and utilize their reach—which is where Mob Scene comes in.

“Our acquisition of Gin + Tonic Labs extends and enhances our capabilities within the social media spectrum beyond solely producing film and digital content for online distribution,” Mob Scene CEO Thomas Grane said in a statement.

“This new unit of our company helps diversify us, and will benefit from our strength and background in production and marketing, as we create unique experiences for use on social media and new media platforms which will be seen by millions of users around the world. I’m thrilled that G+T will offer Mob Scene’s current clients an exciting new platform – one that until this acquisition was not previously available under one roof at a full service entertainment marketing agency.”

Mob Scene’s television projects include promotional campaigns for series such as Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, True Blood, and The Walking Dead.

Well on its way to becoming a premiere boutique creative agency and talent management agency, Gin + Tonic also started representing musical talent over the past year. Mob Scene’s acquisition will allow the company to grow its staff, add and retain more A-list clients, and continue to create effective content that cuts through the clutter.

“Gin + Tonic was ready to take what we were doing to the next level,” said Spitz. “By tapping into Mob Scene’s creative resources and production expertise, we are poised to help Mob Scene push new boundaries in traditional media, and primed to continue our innovative approach to new media.”
